BIM 3D / 4D / 5D

It is a virtual model, which is not just made up of geometry and textures for visualization purposes. It is a virtual construction equivalent to a real building, thus having many details regarding the composition of the materials of each element, such as doors, windows, etc. This allows you to simulate the building and understand its behavior before its actual construction has started. The BIM model can be used for three-dimensional visualization, to assist in design decisions and to compare the various planning, design, construction and maintenance alternatives.

levels of detail

The LODS are levels of detail of a model used within the BIM methodology, being used to organize and classify the models used within the virtual construction, showing the level of compliance with the information the product will be received by the user..

The elements presented in the project are not necessarily objects containing information, and at this level the use of two-dimensional graphic representations or geometric shapes that do not contain information for the construction, nor even the exact measurement of the elements.

The elements presented in the model need a geometric shape, and the information may be inaccurate, but they are close to reality, the difference is in the non-obligation to link objects to systems, such as sanitary sewer systems, or electrical circuit systems. Objects that represent volumes and spaces can be used.

The elements presented in the project must contain information characteristic of the linked system, in addition to information on location, orientation, size, material and the possibility of being included in quantitative terms. At this level, the elements must allow the precision of making measurements directly on the model, without the need for notes and calls containing the exact sizes.

The modeled element is graphically represented with a specific, objective system, prepared for the extraction of information such as size, quantity, location, orientation and interconnection with other complementary systems. With this it is possible to perform the coordination of interferences / incompatibilities in the virtual construction, according to the LOD 300, it is also possible to ascertain the measurements of the objects in the model itself, due to its reliability.

In addition to all the requirements of the LOD 350, level 400 includes details in order to allow the sending of digital files for the manufacture of components, as their dimensions are correct, allowing the “automatic” transfer from virtual to real.
